Some History of Westlake, TX
Westlake started when settlers Charles and matilda Medlin and 20 other families settled in that area in 1847. The city didn’t take the name Westlake until the late 1950s. It was known before as Circle T Ranch. In the 1990s, they almost disbanded the town due to Fort Worth and Southlake trying to take over the land. But, the district judge ruled the annexations violated state law, so the properties were returned to Westlake’s jurisdiction. The city has Keller’s Police officers to take care of the law for Westlake, TX, but they have their own Fire-EMS services. Today, Westlake has built world-class residential homes for the people.
